Portrait with an iPhone

The ‘portrait photograph’ featured, is from a series of Street Photography images that I am shooting of people and life in the streets of London and on the tube for a Blurb book.

All the photographs will be taken on an iPhone using the Hipstamatic app. The featured photo was taken using the John S lens and Claunch 72 Monochrome film. This combination produces hard contrasty images with a thick black boarder, which I like. Interestingly, if I were to shoot using actual black and white film, I doubt very much if I would produce a print of a portrait photograph with no or very little shadow detail. In Lightroom I did reduce the shadows and blacks  slightly, so the images isn’t straight out of the camera – whoops phone. Crazy!
