Metropolitan Police Riot Training
This photograph is a favourite of mine from my documentary/reportage photography portfolio. It was taken in 1991 during a period that I spent with the London Metropolitan Police documenting various aspects of the force; from training as this shot shows, to going out with them on raids and surveillance.
During the early 1990’s I was doing much documentary photography, along with having many PR Photography and corporate portrait commission. It certainly reinforced my continued belief that the more you have to do, the more you are able to do.
The image was taken using a Nikon FM2 camera and a 35mm lens, with Fuji transparency film. The photo shown is as shot. I was laying on the ground taking a series of photos, so close was I that at one point flames were going over my head.
More ‘golden oldies’ to come.
