A photograph can say a thousands words, so the saying goes. And never more so then a portrait, or headshot when it is going to be used to promote you and what you do, and maybe get you more contacts and in turn business.
It is important that your portrait suits the purpose it is being used for. How many times have you been asked to join someone’s network, and the photo of them is mid to full length of them standing leaning against a wall or in front of a tree – you can not make out their face, it’s in shadow or it’s just too small, get where I’m going. The photo is useless in terms of telling you anything about the person. Worse still is to be invited to join a network, and the person has no headshot of himself or herself.
The featured headshot was taken for the client’s business card. It was important to get in close, and he wanted a relaxed, modern and fresh feel to the image.
