The featured Portrait is from a Documentary Photo series that I did called “Living with HIV/AIDS. Despite the photograph appearing as if it was shot in a studio, the image was taken in the subjects home. As a portrait photographer, I love it when I go to someone’s home for a photo shoot and their walls are white or a neutral colour and not all cluttered with wall hangings – makes things much easier.
The photograph was taken using a Pentax 6 X 7 camera with a 165mm lens, Kodak Tmax 100 ISO film. I used a mix of ambient and fill in flash to light the image.
See my blog of 22 October 2012 to view another black and white documentary portrait from the series.
