This photograph is one of my favourites from my Reportage Photography portfolio, and it is the first in my blogging about details of some ‘golden oldies’.
During 1991 I spent a few weeks going around with a few different units from the Metropolitan Police, which was hard going, but very exciting. The featured documentary photograph was taken during a police raid on a pub in Lewisham; the police were following leads on drug dealers. The photograph appeared on the front cover of The European Newspaper – needless to say I was delighted.
The image was shot using an Nikon FM2 camera with a 35mm lens, on Fuji transparency film, and using a Metz 45 flash gun. The photo is as shot – I’m one professional photographer of many that hates to crop their images.
